News - East End 24 Hour Knees Up

East End Road Runners LondonA running club in the shadow of the Olympic Park are celebrating London 2012 in their home borough with a unique relay event. The Newham 24 hour non-stop relay is being hosted by East End Road Runners and will take place at the Terence McMillan Stadium at Newham Leisure Centre on noon 18 August until noon 19 August.

News - Garmin Support Oxford Half Marathon

Oxford Half MarathonRunners at the 2012 Oxford Half Marathon will benefit from the support of Garmin who are backing the event which will take place on 14 October. The GPS specialists will be the official training partner for the annual event. With less than three months to go until the race day, runners are being urged to sign up for the event with the backing of dedicated training plans from the sponsors.

Runtalk - Father Of Marathon Honoured In Stockholm

KanakuriThis weekend saw Stockholm commemorate the marathon runners who took part in the 1912 Olympics with its centenary event. Of the 68 competitors who embarked on the race a century ago, Shizo Kanakuri's journey was perhaps the longest, with the Japanese runner recoding a time of a little over 54 years and 8 months.
