News - Runners Beat Snow In Hampshire

Stubbington 10k Runners

Sub-zero temperatures and snow during the race couldn't deter 1,200 runners who turned up in Hampshire yesterday for the Stubbington Green 10K. A field that included former European and Commonwealth champion Iwan Thomas gathered in Fareham on a chilly morning for the 10am start. 31 minutes and 16 seconds later, defending champion Chris Powner broke the tape, but his time - 36 seconds slower than his course record - meant that he was never threatening the £100 on offer for a new fastest race time.

News - Twell Launches Mini Mile

Stephanie TwellCommonwealth Games medallist Stephanie Twell recently helped launch this year's Shlurp! Mini Mile races for Brighton Marathon. The youth races are a curtain-raiser for the UK's second biggest marathon.The Shlurp! cow also made a surprise appearance as the event was launched at Blatchington Mill school in front of 300 pupils. 2008 Olympian Twell gave an inspiring speech to the assembled youngsters.
