News - Pupil Power To Boost Bournemouth Marathon Festival

Plans for the inaugural Bournemouth Marathon Festival on 5/6 October, 2013 have received a boost with the announcement that the junior events in the six race programme will feature prizes for local schools. Pupils at 78 schools have been invited to take part in both the 1.5k race for 6 to 10 year olds and the 3k contest for 11 to 14 year olds.

News - Gosport Mile Is Golden

Golden Mile RunnersAn ambitious project to create a mass participation mile race in Hampshire has proved a major success and there are now plans for a bigger and better event in 2014. Organisers, specialist retailers Absolute Running, were delighted by the 400 plus turnout for the Gosport Golden Mile promenade race last month and the commercial support from the local business community.

News - Marathon Of Champs

Paris MarathonThere were a record 40,000 participants at this year's Paris marathon,however race organisers are hoping to exceed that figure at the 2014 event on 6 April. As you would expect, the French capital's race route is awash with historic landmarks making it one of the most popular marathons in Europe.

After the success of the inaugural event last year, The Tunnel 2 Towers Run returns to London this Sunday. Taking inspiration from the Fire Department of New York Tunnel to Towers Run, the race takes runners from south to north London under the River Thames, through the Rotherhithe Tunnel to Wapping, and finishing in London's Docklands in Billingsgate Market in the shadow of Canary Wharfs Towers. The event begins in Southwark Park in Bermondsey with the run itself starting in Brunel Road.

Also on Sunday is the Mount Ephraim 10K in Sussex. A challenging course along quiet country roads, it offers runners great views of the Kent countryside. Participants also get free admission to Mount Ephraim Gardens.
