News - NYC Marathon Image

NYC MarathonResolution runners who plan to target a top international event as a focus for improvement in 2014 should look no further than the 'daddy' of the marathon scene - New York City Marathon. The 'blue riband' of 26.2 mile races is set for Sunday 2 November this year and 50,000 will take part.

News - Done Geordie Done

Mark Allison with Aussie flagMark Allison, aka Run Geordie Run, has arrived back in the UK after completing his 2,383-mile Benfield Run across Australia! The gruelling challenge started in Perth on 16 October 2013 and came to a conclusion at Shellharbour on Saturday 4 January, just before midnight (GMT).

Snow RunThis month we want to find out what your running target for 2014 is! Whether it be to just get up off the couch and make a start, or step onto the start line of your first marathon - we want to know!

Currently, running a first half marathon is in the lead, running a PB at your best distance in second, third is building your weekly mileage to a new high!

Race Listings

Rough'N'Tumble WinnerLast weekend's race results are now available online at southernrunningguide.com. Check out the results and upcoming events on our race listing page.

Sunday's Rough 'n' Tumble 10 is designed to 'start your 2014 running year with a real challenge'. The 10-mile multi-terrain race takes place in Marlborough, Wiltshire and is tough enough for experienced off-road runners but still doable for novices.

Also on Sunday, the Bromley 10K has a very fast course, starting and finishing at Norman Park Athletics Track. The race consists of four laps along paths through very attractive parkland with water stations at various points on the course.
