News - A Race With A View In Surrey

Hogs Back Race Image

The Hogs Back Road Race, one of the south of England's top road races, is back for its 54th year on 8 December at Loseley House, Guildford. This great winter road race includes exhilarating climbs, and great views, in the Surrey Hills. The event is managed on behalf of Guildford & Godalming AC by local company, aat events ltd, who deliver some of Surrey's best-known run races such as the Runners Need G3 Series and the new Surrey Half Marathon.

News - City Mile Race Launched

Hannah England at St Paul'sTeam GB middle distance star Hannah England has officially launched the City of London Mile event. The new event, which takes place on Sunday 22 June next year in the heart of London's Square Mile, is open for entries. With a tagline of 'How fast can you run a mile?' the event will start and finish next to St Paul's Cathedral in the heart of London's Square Mile.

GPS timepieces are proving to be the most popular gadget to run with, clocking up 59.5% of the vote. Meanwhile, 27% of voters use a running app, and 8.1% rely on nothing but a faithful stopwatch to time their runs.

Beat the BogLast weekend's race results are now available online at southernrunningguide.com. Check out the results and upcoming events on our race listing page.

Billed as 'one of the fastest 10Ks around', The Old Deer Park Richmond 10K on Saturday features scenery that includes Old Deer Park, Kew Gardens and River Thames. The run is open to all abilities and features chip timing, big cash prizes, freebies, spot prizes and free massages.

On Sunday, obstacle lovers in Kent will take part in the first Beat The Bog - The Big Bog-Off. The 8k race near Canterbury will feature 40+ serious obstacles (check out the picture) built over a wetland terrain of lakes, rivers and dykes.
