Big fun runners

The Big Fun Runs return to the race calendar this year with 18 events around the country, including Maidstone, Brighton, Southampton, Bournemouth and Milton Keynes. The 5k untimed events are staged within scenic settings throughout the UK from July to October 2014.

News - Ditch The Daily Commute And run2work

Run2Work LogoWith summer around the corner, we no longer have to suffer the horror that is waking up and going to work in near darkness. As such, a new initiative called run2work is encouraging us to make the most of the extra daylight by ditching the regular train commute and run to work on Thursday 5 June.

Poll - Alcohol And Running – What’s Your Approach?

STHRG IssuesThis month we wanted the find out how runners felt about alcohol in relation to their training.

With today as last chance to cast your vote the results show that 43% of voters said that they drink regularly, 31% say that they only drink occasionally and 14% said that they only have some liquor on special occasions.

Race Listings

10k RunnersLast weekend's race results are now available online at southernrunningguide.com. Check out the results and upcoming events on our race listing page.

One for the ladies, Saturday's Women's Running 10K in London Lee Valley features a two-lap flat course using surfaced pathways that links sections of firm, stony tracks. Part of a 10-race series, it’s ideal both for beginners and those seeking a fast time. Fast times are also likely to feature at Sunday's Grand East Anglian Run. The flat course features several historic buildings as well as great spectator support, and is interspersed with musicians and dancers to help you enjoy your run!
