Brighton Marathon celebrates its fifth birthday on Sunday. This year’s event will also include a 10k for the first time. The marathon is a popular alternative to London, with a relatively flat route, taking in town and coastal roads. A slightly older race, the 31st  Bungay Marathon also takes place on Sunday. A half marathon is also held alongside the 26.2-mile race. The picturesque Waveney Valley course takes in villages on both sides of the Suffolk-Norfolk border.
