News - Have A Ball In Berlin

Berlin Marathon Runners

Berlin has been in the spotlight recently with the German men's football team parading their World Cup trophy around the capital's streets. And on 28 September, around 40,000 runners will get to follow in their footsteps (well, sort of) by taking part in the 41st Berlin Marathon. Travel packages are still available from Sports Tours International but those wishing to take part are advised to enter soon to avoid disappointment.

News - Run Reigate Launched

Run Reigate logoEntries are open for the inaugural Run Reigate Half Marathon, another new addition to the Surrey running scene. The event will take place on Sunday 21 September at 9am. Organisers promise a beautiful, scenic route that winds its way through iconic Surrey landscape, starting and finishing in Reigate's stunning Priory Park.

Runtalk - Glasgow Glories Await

Lynsey SharpAnd so the UK has another sporting spectacular to enjoy for the next two weeks with Glasgow hosting the Commonwealth Games. Whilst it would be unfair to burden the same expectation on Glasgow as we did for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, the coming fortnight will undoubtedly still create many memories to savour.

Race Listings

British 10K runnersLast weekend's race results are now available online at southernrunningguide.com. Check out the results and upcoming events on our race listing page.

The weekend's Bath Running Festival is a celebration of off-road running around the beautiful hills and valleys of the city. It features a marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k, and 300m junior event. All runs take in breath-taking views of Bath from Sham Castle and the open meadows above Bathampton. Also on Sunday, the Down Tow Up Flow Half Marathon is run in reverse directions each year. ‘Up Flow’ this year, it starts in Windsor and finishes in Marlow, taking in Maidenhead, Cookham and Bourne End.
