Ethiopian great Haile Gebrselassie is out of this Sunday’s Bupa Great South Run. Gebrselassie’s participation was seen as a massive boost for the event as it prepares to celebrate its 25th year.

New Poll - Two Hour Marathon, Any Time Soon?

ClockDennis Kimetto thrilled the running world with his dazzling 2:02:57 at Berlin Marathon. Now we want to know when (and if) the seemingly impossible 2 hour mark will be broken. 29% of you think it will be another 5 years before the 2 hour mark is reached, 26% think it'll take 20 years, and 23% reckon a sub-2 hour marathon is a decade away.

Race Listings

Great South RunLast weekend's race results are now available online at southernrunningguide.com. Check out the results and upcoming events on our race listing page.

Gebrselassie may have withdrawn, but the 25th Great South Run on Sunday is still massive. Up to 25,000 runners are expected to compete, moving through Old Portsmouth, home of Portsmouth Cathedral and Royal Garrison Church, before entering the historic dockyard.

Also on Sunday, runners of all ages (not just old dears) will take on the Old Deer Park Richmond Half Marathon, passing over two iconic London bridges - Putney and Hammersmith - and running along the riverside for 90% of the race.
