Centipedes To Chase World Record

The "Centipede" RunnersManchester-based Ed Pond is planning his first marathon at London in just three months. Poll - How Do You Beat The Winter Freeze

Poll ImageWe've got a new poll running about your favourite ways to keep running when bad weather/dangerous condition force you off-road/off-pavement.

So far, taking to the treadmill is the most popular, while using spikes or cleats comes in second, with doing another form of exercise third.

Why don't you let us know what you think on our polls page?

Up And Coming Races

Southern Running Guide Race ListingsPlease note that the Les Witton Dartford 10 has been re-scheduled for Sunday, April 3 from its original January 23 date. This time however the culprit isn't the weather but a consequence of the ongoing closure of the A227 in Meopham. However no problems with the popular Benfleet 15 at Canvey Island on January 23 - you can check out the race details at Benfleet Running Club's website.

The following weekend there are events at various distances at Hyde Park, Guildford, historic Kenley Airfield and Hemel Hempstead, so a few opportunities to get racing before January's out. Much more action in February and you can check out what's scheduled at southernrunningguide.com.

There are plenty of other races over the next fortnight, so check out our race listing for more information. Good luck to everyone taking part in races over the next two weeks, remember if you are organising a race, you can sign up as a race organiser and add your race details.
