News - Final Chance For Great Run Challenge

Great South RunThe final two events in the Great Run series, the Bupa Great Birmingham Run (19 October) and the Bupa Great South Run (26 October), mark the last opportunities for clubs to take part in the Great Run Club Challenge. Affiliated clubs will be in with a chance of winning a trip to the Great Ethiopian Run, Africa’s biggest road race, in November.

Now we want to know when (and if) the seemingly impossible 2 hour mark will be broken. 39% of you think it will be another 5 years before the 2 hour mark is reached, 28% think it'll take 10 years, and 17% reckon Kimetto, Kipsang or one of the current elites will get there by autumn 2016.

Race Listings

Oxford HalfLast weekend's race results are now available online at southernrunningguide.com. Check out the results and upcoming events on our race listing page.

Runners at this weekend's Oxford Marathon will have the chance to follow in Roger Bannister's footsteps, literally. This year's race will feature a Bannister Mile at Iffley Road Track where Roger recorded his sub-four minute mile 60 years ago.

Away from the mainland, the Isle of Wight Marathon returns after debuting its new course last year. It features quiet undulating town and rural roads on the west of the island.
