Forest road runningSwiss sportswear manufacturer Odlo has launched a competition to find the most inspirational running stories from the public. The retailer is offering a unique training day with one of its star athletes - distance runners Ingalena Heuck, Soren Ludolph and Tanja Eberhart are all possibilities - for the top five inspirational tales they receive.

News - Brighton Set For Two Day Expo

Ron HilIn the third year of the race, the Brighton Marathon is set to host its biggest pre-event exhibition at the Brighton Centre this week. The two-day event opens its doors to the public on Friday at 12 noon, extending last year's inaugural expo by a day. The free-to-enter exhibition opens from 12 noon to 8pm on Friday and on Saturday from 10am to 6pm.

Wall ClockAh, there's nothing quite like a PB is there? 'PB?' non-runners might ask. You don't really hear much about Personal Bests in other sports.

But it's one of the true beauties of the sport of running. There are goals for everyone to strive for - not just potential winners. Golf has its handicap system which levels the playing field and gives everyone an individual target, but there are few other sports that can really offer personalised goals as running does.

Poll - The Barefoot Question

Poll ImageThe recent debate about "Barefoot Running" is a controversial one, with some runners now deeply committed to their minimalist shoes, others still prefer shoes that offer support and cushioning.

So far, the majority of people still prefer to run in cushioned footwear, followed by people who are already committed minamalists in second place, with people considering giving barefoot running a try in third.
