The Salisbury 5-4-3-2-1 trail runs or walks is an event suited to all the family, with a choice of distances from 5k to the more demanding marathon and 50k ultra. The routes will be over footpaths, bridleways and quiet country roads in the Salisbury Wessex area. The trail/walk runs will take you past a variety of sites of historical and scientific interest and through country estates not usually open to the public.
The event start and finish at Salisbury Fire Station with a choice of distance: (5k & 10k walk only) 21k, 33k, 42k (marathon) and 50k (ultra).
Count yourself down over: 5 Rivers - the Avon, the Bourne, the Ebble, the Nadder and the Wylye; 4 Hills - Old Sarum, King Manor, Clearbury Hillfort and Salisbury racecourse; 3 Large Country Estates - Clarendon, Longford and Wilton; 2 Castles - Old Sarum and Longford; 1 Cathedral - Salisbury with a 404 ft spire.
Entry fees are great value - £29 (£27 affiliated) for trail runners and - £12 for walkers at any of the six distance choices.
For runners, there is ChronoTrack Timing and results, a small trophy for 1st male & female in each distance. Also included: frequent water stops and a medal or badge.
Salisbury 5-4-3-2-1 is now in its 23rd year.
