Charity Series Returns
2 SEP2010

Raising money for a worthwhile cause is often the biggest motivator for getting people to lace up their trainers and get running. Cancer Research UK's Run 10K series is the ideal opportunity to generate support for a charity and have a race target at the same time.
Cancer Research UK's Run 10K series is seeking entries ahead of autumn's events at some of the UK's most picturesque venues. The charity's phenomenally successful women-only Race for Life 5K series was augmented by the 10K races in 2008, which welcomes both male and female entrants.
The races take place at a variety of UK venue on weekend dates from September 26 through to Sunday October 31. Entry is £19.50, which covers the cost of the event and a free Run 10K T-shirt to wear on the day.
The entry fee does not include a donation, so runners are encouraged to seek sponsorship to raise money to help the charity find more ways to detect, prevent and treat cancer.
This year, entrants can choose whether you want to raise general funds for Cancer Research UK's life-saving work or support bowel cancer research by the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.
For SOUTHERN RUNNING GUIDE readers, races of particular interest are located at Brighton and Hove Seafront (October 3), Hylands Park, Chelmsford (October 3), Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey (October 3), Hatfield House, Hertfordshire (October 9), Crystal Palace Stadium, London (October 10), The Common, Southampton (October 17) and Victoria Park, London (October 17).
