Lights, Camera, Brutal Action!

Brutal Run 2017

Brutal Bourne Woods is a brand new addition to the Brutal portfolio of tough, natural runs in stunning scenery. The latest event in the award winning series is next Saturday (11 November) at Bourne Wood near Farnham, Surrey, a location made world famous as an international film set.

Bourne Wood has been a popular location since 1999 for filming blockbusters like Gladiator, Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, Captain America, Thor, Avengers, Wonder Woman and Robin Hood. The hilly woodland setting has also featured in many TV shows such as Dr Who and Henry VIII plus dozens of commercials.

If you would like to be an extra in another saga in the history of Bourne Wood you need to act now. Castings for Brutaleers are being taken online at the Brutal Run website and all you need to qualify is a plucky nature, the stamina of a Gladiator and the registration fee.

The new race features a single 10k lap route with a gentle run out to the beautiful trails of Bourne Wood. Brutal events only use 100% natural obstacles: steep hills and descents through scenic woodland trails. If you like your running tough in a stunning running environment, then this is the event for you!

Features of Brutal Runs include specific women’s only or men’s only medals; free parking; chip timing; portable loos and a challenging course designed by British Army officers. The venue is only two miles from Farnham station and just over an hour from London Waterloo.

Tickets cost £23 with a free Kids' Mini-Brutal Run. The children can run as many timed laps of a marked course as they choose.

Time to dig out those (old) trail running shoes, apply the war paint and choose your most eye catching outfit and get Brutal on a film set – next stop Hollywood!
