Surrey Trail Race Entries Still Open

Action from 2013 race

The annual Charterhouse Club Trail Run is due to take place in the Surrey countryside on Sunday 19 October. Places are still available for the event which sees chip timed races over 5k, 10k and 15k distances, as well as a 1k fun run for young children and families.

The run offers something for everyone of any fitness level, providing an ideal opportunity for runners to enjoy the scenic woodland trails in and around Charterhouse school. Josie Tidbury, operations manager at Charterhouse Club, commented: “This is our fifth year of organising the Trail Run and already a good number of people have signed up to the event.

“It will be lovely to see families and young children also involved this year and we are really pleased to have our Fun Run sponsored by The Toy Box, who will be providing medals for all children taking part.”

Commenting from Godalming store The Toy Box, manager Steve Mohabir said “We love supporting local events like the Charterhouse Club Trail Fun Run which are fun and family orientated. It reflects on how we base our business here at The Toy Box, on fun and quality toys for the whole family.

“This is the first time that Charterhouse has added a race for young children and we're delighted to be involved."

Participants and spectators will meet at Charterhouse Club, with the Fun Run starting at 10am followed by the 5k, 10k and 15k at 10.30am. There will be marshals stationed along the route which is a clearly marked 5k loop around the school grounds.

Runners must be aged 12yrs or over to take part in the 5k, 10k or 15k Trail Run and children under the age of 12yrs can take part in the Fun Run. Children under 5yrs must be accompanied by an adult.

Advance entries close at midnight on Friday 10 October and it costs £4 to enter the Fun Run, £10.50 for the 5k, £15.50 for the 10k and £20.50 for the 15k. People can enter on the day. Visit to the club website to secure your place or collect a booking form from the club.
