The Dinosaur 10K was held yesterday in Deal with 463 runners finishing the course. The race was under perfect dry conditions and organisers are putting the success of the race down to the great support from runners, marshals, supporters and helpers.
The winner of this year's race was Mike Coleman of Medway and Maidstone AC (pictured), finishing in a time of 32:15, while the first woman home was Tina Oldershaw from Paddock WoodAC in 37:10. Daniel Baker finished things off in 1:45:34 and the midpoint runner was Roy Carr of the Maidstone Harriers with a time of 53:17. Full Results are available here.
The Dinosaur 10K and 1500m Fun Run is an annual event, held in memory of Deal Tri Club founder, Roger Francis-Darby, who passed away seven years ago after suffering from skin cancer. Profits from the race are given to The Skin Cancer Charity and Deal Regatta.
The 10K route takes in the Deal/Walmer/Kingsdown seafront, passing Deal and Walmer castles. Plans are already underway for next year's race.
