Scenic Race Awaits At Meon Valley Half Marathon

action from the Meon Valley Half

Hampshire runners have a treat in store on Sunday, 5 November when they can create their own fireworks at the Meon Valley Half Marathon. The race follows a course in the beautiful, but unsung East Hampshire Downs, along country lanes and on woodland trails. The terrain is approximately 50/50 on and off-road.

Expect a challenging run with 400m of elevation so you won't be posting a half marathon PB. However you will enjoy fabulous views over the Meon Valley - wisteria-clad cottages, flint churches and chalk streams - and across to the Isle of Wight.

The course is well-marked and there are multiple water/feed stations. With an anticipated 250 entrants there will be plenty of people around without it being busy. It's a course with climbs and descents so you'll work hard on the uphills but relish the descents and you'll love the downhill section back into the valley as you head for the finish. There can be short slippery sections in November so trail shoes are advised.

Happy finishers with medal at the Meon Valley HalfMeon Valley is within easy reach of both Portsmouth and Southampton and worth the trip for London-based runners however places are limited so enter soon to avoid disappointment.
