Hove Man Sets Treadmill Record

Dan Lawson with Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet

A Hove man has broken the world record for miles run on a treadmill in a single week. Dan Lawson, a local Health Manager for Brighton and Hove Albion FC's charity arm Albion in the Community, completed 521 miles on Saturday 23 March, beating Yorkshire's Sharon Gayter's previous best by four miles.

40 year old Lawson ran an average of 74 miles per day within a specially erected tent in Jubilee Square in Brighton. Known locally for his feats of running endurance, he ran the Brighton marathon course eight times in three days last year.

Dan's achievement was to raise funds and awareness for children's activity projects, designed to keep youngsters healthy and active, fighting obesity.
