The Hogs Back Road Race, one of the south of England's top road races, is back for its 54th year on 8 December at Loseley House, Guildford.
This great winter road race includes exhilarating climbs, and great views, in the Surrey Hills. The event is managed on behalf of Guildford & Godalming AC by local company, aat events ltd, who deliver some of Surrey's best-known run races such as the Runners Need G3 Series and the new Surrey Half Marathon.
Guildford & Godalming AC will be providing the volunteers on the day to ensure a safe and enjoyable run for everyone. Road closures will be in place and residents are being notified over the coming weeks. The whole community is involved in preparing for the event, which expects to attract over 800 runners.
"We are very grateful to Michael More-Molyneux for the use of the Loseley Estate as our parking, start and finish area," says Toby Jenkins, race director of aat events ltd. "I would also like to thank our sponsors - Fitstuff, Care for Health and Barlow Robbins Solicitors who make the event possible."
Toby added: "A testing 11.7k run, the Hogs Back Road Race is ideal training for Surrey Half Marathon."
The amended route, changed for 2012, was well received by the athletes who took part, so if you enjoyed the 2012 event, or would like to check out the new route, sign up soon at the event website.
