Historic, energetic, iconic, electric...all words that can be found somewhere on the adidas City Runs Shoreditch 10K website. We could, perhaps, add eclectic to describe this exciting race in one of London's most creative and diverse boroughs and you have until midnight tonight (11 July) to enter the third edition on Sunday 14 July.
adidas City Runs launched at Shoreditch on 8 October 2017 with over 4,000 runners. Now the City Run Series has grown to three huge events, with Fulham 10K (17 November) and the unique City Run 1 Hour (7 April) sandwiching Shoreditch 10K. Run all three and you qualify for an exclusive Gold Series Medal.
All adidas City Runs feature a vibrant London party vibe, with live DJ music at the event village. Runners receive an adidas technical T-shirt; free race photo album; premium finisher's medal; bespoke training sessions and discounts at the best restaurants and venues around.
adidas City Run Shoreditch 10K has been moved to a new summer date from its former October slot. Last year's winners were Olivier Wijtenberg (32:45) and Azeline Martino (37:56). There were 2,641 finishers in 1:42:14 and 1,941 of those ducked under the hour.
The inaugural winners at Shoreditch were Daniele Caruso (33:11) and Tracy Barlow (Thames Valley Harriers, 36:24). There were 150 finishers inside 40 minutes and 1,400 were home within 50 minutes on the fast, flat course.
This year's headline charity is Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, who support mental health services in London. Running for Mind helps to ensure that nobody has to face a mental health problem alone.
More than 25 of the best restaurants and attractions in Shoreditch have partnered with City Runs Shoreditch competitors, who can unlock exclusive discounts and offers simply by flashing their race day bling.
