The Boudavida Women's 10K has become established as one of the largest women's only runs in UK. This year's 14th annual race starts and finishes in front of Windsor Castle on Saturday 23 September as part of Run Windsor weekend, which concludes with the Meridian Windsor Half Marathon on Sunday 24 September.
The 2016 Boudavida 10K was won comfortably by Georgie Bruinvels (Aldershot, 36:21) as Nikki Aitken (Belgrave Harriers, 39:33) and Hannah Howard (Eastleigh, 39:45) also ducked under the 40-minute threshold.
There were 879 finishers in 1:51:56 and 220 women were inside the hour – impressive running on an undulating but beautiful course in and around Windsor Great Park.
Among the many five star reviews last year was this from Gabriella: “The park in Windsor was a beautiful location to run around, the sun was shining and the whole event had a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere with lots of good food and kit stalls too – I'll definitely be back.”
The race runner-up last year, Nikki Aitken, said: "I loved the Boudavida Womens 10K, Windsor and smiled from start to finish! It is a stunning location and even more beautiful to run around. The atmosphere is electric and from beginners through to elite, there is a cheer waiting for you. I couldn't recommend this event more highly for those looking for their first 10k through to seasoned racers looking for a great route to test themselves on. Give it a go, you won't regret it!"
With such ringing endorsements, an aerobic warm-up, bespoke finisher's medal, technical T-shirt, children's entertainment, full medical support and Boudavida vouchers, there is huge interest in this year's event but you can still save £5.50 by entering before 22 September.
