Brighton, one of the UK's most vibrant running cities, has added another top event to its existing calendar. The Bright 10 is a new road race in Brighton and Hove and will compliment the coastal venue's existing events - Brighton Marathon, Brighton Half Marathon, Brooks Brighton 10K and the weekly Brighton and Hove parkruns.
The inaugural race will take place on Sunday 18 October 2015, kick-starting the autumn 10 mile season. Falling one week before the Great South Run, the Bright10 will offer runners the chance to experience Brighton and Hove at its very best, with a route that showcases the sights and landmarks that make the city so unique.
The Bright10 is organised by Runbase Limited, owned and managed by the former events managers of the flourishing Brighton Half Marathon, Paul Bond and Gavin Stephens.
Gavin and Paul are seasoned runners in Sussex, both lifelong active athletes. With their combined passion for running and delivery of the most memorable running events, the Bright10 is set to become one of the flagship running events in the country.
Paul said: “We expect to see up to 10,000 runners take part in our first Bright10 event. The race is run over the classic 10 mile distance and will be a perfect and very achievable challenge for many new and would-be runners.
"Our experience tells us that the 10 mile distance will resonate with both a traditional and new audience. From those looking for a PB, maybe as a runner’s ‘ultimate goal’ or a great stepping stone on a progressive path from 5k to 10k and up to a half marathon or full marathon.”
Gavin added: “We look forward to welcoming the running community to Brighton and Hove for what is set to be the most colourful event on the 2015 UK road running calendar.”
Registration for the Bright10 is now open. Visit the Bright 10 website to sign up today. Entry is just £27 for an affiliated place and £29 for an unaffiliated place.
