Human Race has announced that early entry discounts for the 2018 Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 10k will close at 23:59 hours on Tuesday (26 September). London's coolest run takes place on Sunday, 4 February and early birds can join the pigeons in Trafalgar Square, while saving up to £9 on full price entries.
Registration will guarantee your place on the start line in Trafalgar Square for this special opportunity to run 10k through the closed streets of Central London. As always there will be some unforgettable winter and musical surprises as you pass world famous landmarks along the way. Don’t miss your chance to join the fun at the reduced early fee.
Of course, there is a serious purpose behind this extraordinary event and that is to help freeze cancer in its tracks. Deaths from cancer in London have fallen by more than 10% in the past 10 years. You can help beat cancer sooner by raising funds for ground-breaking research like the study of cancer's micro-environment to develop drugs which act on the immune system.
There were 12,211 finishers in 2:10:50 in the capital's largest 10k race in 2016, with an estimated £700K raised for Cancer Research UK. The fast course saw Blake Vivian (33:45) and Angela Douglas (37:06) speed to success at the sharp end of the colourful throng.
Event organiser Human Race promises the return of favourite attractions en route like the Penguin Party, Swiss Chalet drink station and the warm and welcome Polar Bear hugs at the finish in Whitehall. Popular photo opportunities on the course include the Snow Blast Off Zone at Trafalgar Square, the Bank of England, St Paul's Cathedral, London Stock Exchange, Somerset House and Horse Guards Parade.
