London's Coolest Run Is Open For Entries

London Winter Run 2018

Last year 16,500 runners enjoyed a warm reception at London's coolest run. This total is sure to be surpassed on Sunday 4 February 2018 at the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 10k and discounted early bird entries are now available.

Now acknowledged as the capital's largest 10k race, London Winter Run is a fun-filled tour of many of the top tourist sights with great crowd support and many winter-themed attractions on the course and at the finish.

The fun starts with a Snow Blast Off Zone at Trafalgar Square. The spectacular route takes runners past the Penguin Party at the Bank of England and on to St Paul's Cathedral, London Stock Exchange, Somerset House and Horse Guards Parade before a warm welcome with Polar Bear hugs in Whitehall.

The winner last year was Blake Vivian (33:45) from Christoforos Xenos (33:52) and Michele Bucci (34:11). Angela Douglas (37:06) took the honours in the women's race from Ashley Berry (37:47) and Claire Chapman (37:51).

The fast course helped 133 runners to speed round inside 40 minutes and the crowd cheered every finisher on Whitehall for two and a half hours. An estimated £700,000 was raised to help Cancer Research UK freeze cancer in its tracks. Cancer Research UK is the world's leading cancer charity and their pioneering work has helped save millions of lives.

After last year's event the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “As mayor, I’m keen to encourage Londoners to stay active and healthy. This event is a fantastic opportunity for both regular runners and those new to the sport to keep fit through the winter. I’m really pleased it’s back for a third successful year and helping to raise crucial funds for Cancer Research UK.”
