We are now into the final countdown to the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 10K on Sunday 3 February. And hardly a day goes by without news of additions to enhance the programme at London's coolest 10K with the London Winter Wander the latest innovation.
Just a couple of hundred places remained in the main event as runABC South penned this latest update. However, if you find that all 23,000 entries have gone but would still like to get involved there are a few options – you don't even have to run and it could be free!
London Winter Run has fully embraced the virtual running trend this year and there are details on the event website here
. You could claim one of the fantastic Virtual Winter Run medals, while raising funds for vital research by running 10K (in one go) every week this month and then one final 10K on the race weekend.
Also new for 2019 is the recently launched London Winter Wander
with its bespoke medal as reward for joining one of three walking groups to march on Trafalgar Square in fellowship with friendly guides. Aiming to beat isolation and inactivity and supported by London Sport, there is free entry for many Londoners over 55 years and affordable entry for everyone else.
Whether you run in the main event, support someone who is running or join the happy throng of wanderers in Trafalgar Square, you will find a free Après Ski Party taking place to celebrate the 5th anniversary of this amazing event. Performing live from the steps in front of the iconic National Gallery will be top tribute bands Rule The World and Abba Fever, plus closing the show at 13:00 will be the extraordinary Cancer Research UK Rock Choir.
Also in Trafalgar Square, there will be Optimum Nutrition Cool Down sessions; Virtual Reality Skiing; Bear Chills and Giant Polar Bear photo opportunities plus official merchandise, food and drink outlets.
Looks like all bases are covered at the 5th CRUK London Winter Run, whether you run, support, walk or simply want to chill to the sounds of ABBA, Take That or the Rock Choir.
