Valentines Day has come and gone for another year, but that doesn’t mean your chance to visit the city of love has gone with it. Even better, why not pack your trainers and combine your romantic getaway with participation in one of the world’s most scenic marathons?
Entries close soon for one of the most beautiful marathons in the world, the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris. The closing date for entry is approaching and organisers have advised runABC there are just 500 places remaining.
The event takes place on 8 April and is considered one of the biggest 26.1 mile races in the world with 145 nationalities and 55,000 runners competing in 2018.
Heading into its 42nd year, the event takes place in the heart of Paris, allowing runners to take in all the beauty of the Champs Elysées, the Bois de Vincennes, Boulogne and iconic landmarks along the route including Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower.
Starting under the famous Arc de Triomphe, this year the event will continue to open doors to participation, as it will also showcase kids races for those aged between five and 10 years old on the Saturday.
Although these aren’t quite the 26.2 miles in length, the two races held over courses of 1.2km (5-7 year olds) and 2.2km (8-10 year olds) will be the showpiece events on a day of family fun for all, afterwards the course village will host face-painting, live music and a breakfast fit for a king.
Sports Tours International still have places remaining for the 2018 Paris Marathon, for further information visit their website.
