Entries are now open for this autumn's Folkestone Rotary half marathon. The Kent race will take place on Sunday 29 September. The event also features a children's race which will get underway shortly after the main race at 10:30am. The course takes in Folkestone town centre, the seafront towards Hythe and the Road of Remembrance before finishing at race HQ, the Grand.
Ray Johnson, race director comments: "We now have well over 100 entries to date, which is up on this time last year! Runners have the opportunity to raise money for their chosen charity and so we would encourage early applications to enable the participant to gather sponsorship beforehand.
"We have many entrants from London, as well as local runners from various Kent running clubs. The youngest runner registered is 17 and the oldest is 75 (no maximum age). We would encourage everyone to promote this event as much as possible, as not only is it great for the running enthusiasts, but also family, friends and public alike. Last year we raised over £33,000 for good causes and we are hoping to exceed this amount this year.
"We encourage early registrations, which you can access through the website, however runners are able to enter on the day at The Grand from 8.30am to 9.30am. We welcome the public to spectate and support the runners."
