England Athletics has announced a series of events for club runners, coaches, run leaders and club officers. Everyone is welcome to attend and find out more about England Athletics’ work with road running clubs and share your own thoughts and ideas with senior members of England Athletics staff.
Road Running Road Shows will be hosted this month by England Athletics in the South East, South West, Midlands and North to ensure full geographical coverage. Each Road Show event will have an international endurance athlete present and attendees will have the opportunity to ask any questions about their training, competition and more. The sessions will last around 2.5 hours and will be attended by England Athletics programme leads and senior staff such as chief executive Chris Jones.
Chris Jones said, “Road running clubs are a vital and growing part of the England Athletics membership. Having time together with members of this community is really important for us to help them understand more of the services and opportunities available from England Athletics. I, and other members of the England Athletics staff, also value these opportunities to hear the thoughts and views of our members as we consider how best to serve their needs now and in the future.”
Information will be available on a wide range of activities and services including the Club Run programme to develop road runners and their coaches, Masters competition opportunities, support and resources for event organisers, road race championships, RunTogether and more.
The EA Road Running Road Shows will commence on Monday 4 February 2019 at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Gatwick Airport, Crawley with footballer turned international marathon runner James Westlake (Crawley AC) – pictured above.
