Entries for the 2012 GE Blenheim Triathlon will close tomorrow (Friday, May 11). One of the best organised events on the multi-event calendar, the race takes place within the grounds of the stunning Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire on June 9-10 and usually attracts 8,000 entrants and 15,000 spectators over the weekend.
Special guests at this year will be Great Britain's triathlon world champions and big 2012 medal hopes Alastair and Jonathan Brownlee and Helen Jenkins. Alasdair, the elder brother, is the current world champion and Jonathan is a gold medallist in the sprint discipline which will feature at Blenheim. Jenkins is world champion in the women's Olympic distance.
There are places available in sprint, super sprint and relay disciplines for adults and youths. Entry fees range from £35 for the youth super sprint races to £137 for the sprint team relay. The event hopes to raise thousands for this year's official charity, Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
Alistair Brownlee said: "I am really looking forward to the GE Blenheim Triathlon, it will be a great chance to be with everyone that has been supporting us this year and to say thanks ahead of the Games". For entry information see the official website.
