Entries are up on 2012 for this month's Folkestone Rotary Half Marathon, organisers have revealed. The Kent event will take place on Sunday 29 September, where the race winners in the men's and women's race will collect £100 each. There will also be a children's race.
Race Director Ray Johnson said: "We now have over 200 entries to date, which is fantastic and we still have runners coming in thick and fast.
"Runners have the opportunity to raise money for their chosen charity and it is possible to enter online at the Nice Work website or turn up on the day, although pre-registration is recommended. We have many entrants from London, and some from further afield, as well as local runners from various Kent running clubs. The youngest runner registered is 3 and the oldest is 75 (no maximum age).
"We would encourage everyone to promote this event as much as possible, as not only is it great for running enthusiasts, but also family, friends and public alike. Last year we raised over £38,000 for good causes and we are hoping to exceed this amount this year."
Runners will be able to enter on the day from 8.30am-9.30am. The race course will take in the town centre, the sea front, the Road of Remembrance and will finish outside The Grand Hotel.
