Fox Way Ahead In Ultra Challenges

Fox Ultra routeOur featured photo of Whiteley Village Woods for the brand new Fox Ultra on 22 April, 2017 simply says come and run here. Surrey-based AAT Events are understandingly excited about this new race based on the Fox Way, a waymarked circular trail around Guildford established by local walker Richard Fox.

Responding to increasing demand for longer running challenges, AAT Events have teamed up with ULTRA magazine to deliver a completely new 58km ultra-marathon run. Starting in Godalming, the stunning route through the Surrey Hills heads west to Puttenham, through Worplesdon, Ripley, Clandon and Shere and back south to Godalming.
In addition to the full ultra delivered in partnership with ULTRA magazine, shorter 40k and 20k challenges will also be available, as well as a relay option for teams of three runners. So if your running buddies are keen to join in the fun, why not sign up as a team to each complete a section of the route? Don’t worry, you’ll all get the medals and head wraps!
Whether you’re an elite ultra runner or weekend warrior looking to take on a new challenge, you’ll have a brilliant time exploring some of the finest and least-known trails in Surrey. Every participant will receive great support from the event crew including clear trail marking; feed stations every 10k; fantastic Foxy volunteers; Fox Ultra-branded head wraps and, of course, that all-important Fox Ultra medal.
Event director Becky Hadley said: “The Fox Ultra is set to become a firm favourite in Guildford’s running calendar. Make sure you’re there for the inaugural event!”
“I’m really glad to be supporting the Fox Ultra’s 58km event”, added ULTRA magazine’s creator Andy Nuttall. ULTRA magazine celebrates adventure, just as the Fox Ultra event will.
