Entries have officially opened for the 2015 Vitality Run Hackney Half Marathon. After last year’s inaugural event, the race returns for its second year on Sunday 10 May 2015. Thousands have already pre-registered for the event and for a limited time, runners will be able to save £5 on the entry fee.
Taking place on a flat and fast course, Hackney Half Marathon runs through the heart of east London. The route shows off the very best of the borough’s green spaces. Starting and finishing at Hackney Marshes, the closed-roads course will once again pass by some of Hackney’s best kept parks and key landmarks, including the world-famous Hackney Empire as well as a new and improved route through the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
“We were delighted with the success and response of the inaugural Vitality Run Hackney Half Marathon last year and the 2015 event looks set to be even bigger and better,” says Jon Ridgeon, Vitality Run Hackney Race ambassador.
“The closed-roads and flat route will suit novice runners while those looking for a PB are in with a very good chance at the front of the race. With Hackney Council as our partners for this event, runners are guaranteed a party atmosphere, loads of local support and a very warm welcome once again.”
