Runners seeking an end of winter test need look no further than the Hampton Court Half on Sunday, 21 February. The historic setting in south-west London will provide further inspiration - expect to see the larger than life Henry VIII in the closing stages as you look across to the famous royal palace.
2016 will see the third staging of this popular half, which is perfectly timed as part of your preparation for a spring marathon or as a focus to keep you going over the winter months. Put in the miles in December and January and race organisers KBC will play their part by providing a feature course - fast and flat and with interest throughout.
Runners will enjoy the closed road loop around the picturesque village of Thames Ditton, the historic Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames Marketplace, the iconic three mile stretch of the Barge Walk beside the Thames and, of course, full views of Hampton Court Palace.
The Hampton Court Half has sold out quickly in its previous stagings so register early at the event website to make sure you have a coveted place on the start line on Sunday 21 February.
