Sunday 24 March is the date for your diary if you want to join in the fun at the 2019 Hastings Half Marathon. This year will be the 35th running of this iconic event organised by Hastings Lions Club.

The big race is open to all abilities, and organisers encourage runners to raise money for their own good causes. Hastiings Half is a community event that will help you every step of the way with a really friendly, festival atmosphere. Strong crowd support, bands, discos and even choirs will be urging you round the 13+ miles. There's a free quality programme and free parking and, if you're not driving, there's a good train service to a nearby station.

The event is run under UK Athletic Rules, and is well-marshalled with first class medical support. The course circumnavigates the historic town of Hastings, starting at the seafront and following the route of William the Conqueror towards battle, round the back of the town and down to the famous 'Old Town' and fishing village of Hastings.

Racers head back along the three mile seafront to where they started. Although tough for the first part of the course, runners have produced fast times and PBs as the last two-thirds is flat or downhill before finishing on the Promenade.

Hastings Half Marathon is the perfect warm up for London or Brighton Marathons and, with a field of 4,000, there's a 'big event' feel to help get you prepared.  Every finisher receives a unique 'Hastings Brass'.
