Over 500 runners took part in the Hogs Back Road Race on Sunday 7 December. The classic annual road run organised by aat events on behalf of Guildford and Godalming AC was taking place on its 55th occasion in Surrey.
Many runners used the event as part of their training for the upcoming Surrey Half Marathon which takes place on 8 March 2015, starting and finishing at Woking Leisure Centre.
First male home was Gilbert Grundy of the host club in 39:19. The first female was Fiona Love of Clapham Chasers in 46:27 Guildford and Godalming AC won both the male and female team events.
“It’s great to see friendly rivalry between all the clubs here today. We are honoured to be organising this historic running event for Guildford and Godalming AC,.” said Toby Jenkins, race director.
