How To Run An Ultra-Marathon

Matt Buck on an adventure

runABC South reporter, Alan Newman, readily admits that: “How to run an ultra-marathon”, is not a question he has ever asked himself, let alone an expert. However, the opportunity arises this Wednesday (29 March) in London when experienced ultra runner, adventure seeker, coach and running guide Matt Buck will shed some light on this increasingly popular activity on the running spectrum.

Matt is the man behind Running Adventures, who offer all things running from personal coaching to guided trail runs. Having completed many ultras around the world, notably Marathon des Sables and the Wild Elephant Trail race in Sri Lanka, Matt is taking on the infamous Berghaus Dragon's Back Race in Wales later this year.

Now you can join Matt for an entertaining and insightful talk and experience some of the ultra-marathon lifestyle without any of the the blisters. The venue is Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports in Covent Garden, London, WC2E 7HA, the outdoor clothing and equipment retailer complete with Vertical Chill indoor ice climbing wall.

The store closes at 8:00pm and the stage will be set for Matt's presentation scheduled for an hour from 8:15pm. Matt will talk honestly about his experiences and share what he has learnt the hard way out on the trails, offering an in-depth look at what it takes to prepare for an ultra marathon and exactly how to do it.

If you have ever considered running an ultra-marathon, let Matt Buck inform and inspire you. It could just prove to be the best value £7 you have ever spent if you plan to emulate Matt and his many followers in the future or if you are already a convert to this extraordinary discipline.
