Hurting In Surrey

runner working hard at the Hurt

Online registration for the Hurt series 2013 is now open. The popular off-road triple header in Surrey is now in its third year and organisers have planned progressively harder events in what they are billing the hardest trail run series in the south east.

This year's dates for the 12k contests are 15 June, 6 July and 27 July. All three races will follow routes through the alpine-like forests of the Hurtwood, offering superb scenery on the Greensand Ridge of the Surrey Hills. As the dates progress, tougher south face ascents will be added. For runners who love climbing, the 24k option is also on offer where you get to run the course twice.

Discounts are available for multiple bookings and race organisers All About Triathlons are claiming that despite not being wet or muddy, in terms of ascent it is probably the most difficult trail run series in the south east. With over 2,500 feet of climbing for those doing the 12ks and 5000ft for those doing the 24ks, both will be more akin to fell running.
