High-performance sports brand, Inov8, has become the official 2013 footwear sponsor for one of the UK's newest long-distance challenge events, the Royal Parks Foundation Ultra. Around 700 runners are expected to take part in the Ultra, now in its second year. The 50km course offers runners the chance to enjoy some of London's most spectacular landmarks, including Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament and five of the eight picturesque Royal Parks. The Ultra finishes in historic Bushy Park, Henry VIII's old hunting ground near Hampton Court.
Inov8 founder, Wayne Edy, said: "We are proud to be the footwear sponsors for the Royal Parks Foundation Ultra."
Inov8 is a fast-growing international sports performance brand that manufactures innovative, stripped-back gear for committed athletes wanting to run naturally fast on all terrains and smash hardcore workouts. Their focus on natural running on all terrains, makes them a good fit for the Ultra route, which covers road, towpath and trail. The pioneering British-born company said it was 'proud' to support the Ultra, which will take runners on a stunning 50km route through five of London's world-famous Royal Parks.
As part of the sponsorship deal, Inov8, which along with the Royal Parks Foundation this year celebrates its tenth anniversary, is to supply footwear from its off-road range as prizes for the Ultra race winners.
Wayne Edy continued: "Just like all ultra runners we, as a brand, push boundaries and stretch limits. We are for the committed athlete, a bracket ultra runners definitely fall into. Our stripped-back, naturally fast shoes demand to be pushed that bit further.
"We pride ourselves on delivering lightweight footwear with outstanding grip and would recommend our Terrafly, Trailroc and Roclite off-road shoes as perfect for the Royal Parks Foundation Ultra. Good luck to all taking part."
Sally Barney, events manager for the Royal Parks Foundation said today: "We are delighted to announce that Inov8 has signed up to become the footwear sponsor for the Ultra in 2013. Inov8 as a brand is a natural fit for our Ultra, which this year is expected to become the biggest ultra in Britain with up to 700 runners. Our ultra runners need the support of those people and brands who really understand the rigours of running these kinds of distances, and with their ten year track record of innovation and product design, Inov8, couldn't be better qualified to offer this. It's great to have them on board."
