Kent club Thanet Roadrunners AC have announced a varied range of challenging events for their race calendar over the coming 12 months, ranging from marathon to off-road to multi-discipline events.
The club's popular beach race the Harbour Wallbanger will be held on Saturday 31 May. Entrants will be challenged with a 7km run along the beach, from Broadstairs to Ramsgate and back.
The club will also be hosting the Fosters Law Kent Coastal Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday 7 September where the full marathon incorporates the Kent Grand Prix and the Kent Championships. It’s a scenic run along the Thanet coastline with chip timing, great facilities for runners plus a goody bag and medal for finishers.
Thinking further afield to the wind and rain of winter 2014, a yet-to-be confirmed December date has been pencilled in for the Alan Green Memorial 10 mile race.
Moving to 2015, the club’s Mountain Bike Duathlon is lined up for January. The road run, cross country bike leg followed by a cross country run makes for a true stamina test. Entry can be as individuals or a two/three-person team. Dates for these two events are yet to be confirmed.
