Last Call For Oxford Half

runners get set for Oxford Half

Entries for Virgin Sport Oxford Half Marathon (Sunday 8 October) close on Monday (25 September) so the clock is ticking if you want to be part of this top event in the 'city of dreaming spires'. A bumper field is set to enjoy a classic route that features the iconic Clarendon Building, the charming village of Old Marston and the stunning Radcliffe Camera in the city centre.

Entrants can expect a plethora of entertainment along the route, with bands and DJs placed at every mile. The race village in Oxford’s renowned University Parks will see local food and more entertainment. It's also a great location to explore the city from post-race.

Co-founder of Virgin Sport, Freddie Andrewes said: “The count down to the Virgin Sport Oxford Half Marathon has begun. It's going to be a fantastic day, around such an iconic city and route, so sign up quick to secure your place while they are still available. We’re focused on creating an amazing event for both runners and their supporters – for example we’ll have bands and DJs at every mile, including two new fan hubs with a walking route so those coming along to support, the ‘spectathletes’, have a chance to cheer on the runners at multiple points along the course."

The Virgin Sport team has been working hard to ensure the 2017 renewal of Oxford Half is a memorable one and this year the race package includes free race photos, a technical ASICS top, medal, and tote bag. There is also a new finish, which is located nearer the race village which includes cool downs with Virgin Active trainers and Lucozade’s Made to Move ambassador Brandley Simmonds, and great options for food and drink including The Breakfast Club, Pizza Pilgrims and Hook Norton.

Sign up for Virgin Sport Oxford Half Marathon at the event website before 25 September (midnight).
