Organisers of the Bath half marathon, due to take place on Sunday, March 11, 2012, have confirmed that the race has almost reached its allocated entry level and are encouraging runners to register soon to avoid disappointment.
Regarded as one of the most popular city centre road events in the UK, the 2011 Bath Half attracted 11,000 competitors and raised around £1.5 million for charity. Tickets for the upcoming event are selling faster than last year's and organisers suggest general public entries will be sold out by next week.
Race director Andrew Taylor commented: "We are delighted with the quick take up on entries for 2012. The race has sold out every year since 2000. The Bath Half continues to show an encouraging firming of support, bucking the trend of other larger UK races, some of which are struggling to fill in the current climate."
