Ok, we know summer has just ended but, as they say, the early bird catches the worm.
And you will need to be quick to secure your place at the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run. The capital’s largest 10k returns on Sunday 3 February for the quirky but exceptionally well-organised event that has been getting rave reviews since it launched in 2015.
This incredible city centre run which starts from Trafalgar Square before winding through a landmark laden route to Whitehall, welcomes over 20,000 runners. Throughout the course you can expect live music, larger than life winter characters, and a few surprises.
Whether you’re a seasoned runner looking for an early season PB, or just wanting to start your year with a unique and unforgettable challenge, then this is one not to miss. Plus everybody who completes the course gets the famous Winter Run medal, which for 2018 featured a spinning snowflake. Organisers promise they have something even better lined up for next time.
Places sold out in record time for the last event, so it’s advisable to be quick if you want to take part. Places are available from 10am on Wednesday 5 September.
