There are just 100 days to go to the 2019 Mercer Surrey Half Marathon. Race HQ is the excellent Woking Leisure Centre and 4,000 runners are expected to line up for the sixth edition of this popular race on Sunday, 10 March.
Mercer – the world's largest human resources consulting firm – has secured title sponsorship for the third year running and last year launched their #MercerActive
campaign to inspire and encourage people to engage in healthier lifestyles. Together with Surrey Half organisers aat-events
the global running community is now being engaged through Mercer Surrey Half Marathon Virtual Run.
Virtual runners can now enter the race; benefit from half marathon training plans by race partners Synergy Physiotherapy; run and digitally record 13.1 miles anywhere in the world on Mercer Surrey Half Marathon weekend and receive their medal, branded head wear and newly introduced RacePerk e-Goody Bag!
Mercer's Christina Dove said: “We can all inspire others in our small way and people do take inspiration from seeing others outdoors, pushing themselves to get fitter and improving their health and wellbeing.”
Mercer Surrey Half Marathon received its third consecutive Gold Award from the British Association of Road Races in 2018 in recognition of its 'outstanding race management, exceptionally high standard of race organisation and commitment to runners'.
The flat and scenic closed-roads course facilitates fast times and the winners in March this year were Scott Overall (1:08:38) and Jenna Hill (1:19:20) while the course records are held by Sammy Nyokaye (1:02:42) and Damaris Areba (1:10:58).
