The Needles XC Half Marathon is one of the toughest and most scenic half marathons in the country. The 13.1 mile route will take you over downs and heathland, past historic monuments, along seafronts, through a nature reserve and of course you’ll glimpse the most iconic landmark on the Isle of Wight – The Needles.
Here’s what some of the runners from 2015 had to say about it:
“It was the best running event ever – a great route. I’m already looking forward to next year!”
“A totally amazing route”
“A fantastically well organised event with a difficult course to marshal with all the twists and turns of the multitude of footpaths. Congratulations from a visitor from South Africa.”
The race is being held on Sunday 29 May. And it’s one the whole family can enjoy with the Needles Junior Fun Run taking place before the main event. Open to young runners from the age of 4, fancy dress is a must!
New for 2016, there will be camping facilities on site for entrants and their families.
The event is organised by a local charity, the West Wight Sports and Community Centre Trust.
