A new running festival will spring out of the blocks on the weekend 31 May to 2 June. Athletics stars, live music and artisan food are among the treats in store at RunFestRun.
Runners of all ages and abilities are invited to lace up their trainers and enjoy the best Bowood House & Gardens in Wiltshire has to offer at this three day extravaganza. Watch Razorlight, dance along to a Faithless DJ set, be inspired by Susie Chan, recharge in The Retreat or browse at the Shopping Village. Note: the Champions League Final on Saturday 1 June will be shown on a big screen away from the main stage.
The action begins on Friday (31 May) with the Night-Time Neon Run and ‘Sunset Shuffle’ along with the Daily Mile Schools Challenge. A choice of distances awaits on Saturday (1 June) ranging from 2.5K and 5K to 10K and Half Marathon complete with a warm up beforehand. For anyone who enjoys laps there is a Running Club Relay. These runs are held on multi-terrain through the grounds of Bowood House apart from the 3K Road Race for Wheelchair athletes and runners with buggies.
On Sunday (2 June) there is the 5K Big Bug Run, a themed team fun run and an epic lunchtime party as the festivities come to a close.
Everyone who enters is put into one of four teams they will run for, captained by Paula Radcliffe, Steve Cram, Colin Jackson and Natasha Evans. Points are allocated for every run and the team with the most points is the winner.
