Places are rapidly running out for the Poppy half marathon which takes place in Bexhill-on-Sea on November 13. Organisers report the entry limit of 750 is close to being met with less than two weeks to go until the race date.
The Sussex event covers a flat looped four-lap course which is ideal for both fast times and for spectating. The Poppy half has been organised every year since 2008 and is a fund raiser for the Royal British Legion. The day is about supporting past, present and future armed forces, as well as enjoying the atmosphere and excitement of a great event.
This year, in addition to trophies and prize money for the first three male and female runners, there will also be trophies for the leading male and female in each age group category and for the first male club team and first female club team.
