Dorney Lake, Windsor is the best place to head for a variety of racing distance in the south of England on Sunday (22 January). Runners in the F3 Events promoted races have the choice of the Windsor Winter Half Marathon or fun runs of 5k, 10k, 15k or 20k at the iconic London 2012 Olympic rowing venue. This is the 10th year of this popular winter series at scenic Dorney Lake.
Elsewhere this weekend the traditional 10 mile distance makes a welcome appearance in the race programme with events on Sunday at Dorking, Canterbury, St Albans and Cambourne.
Those who prefer a slightly longer challenge will head for the Farnborough Winter Half or the intriguingly named Doynton Hard Half Marathon in Gloucestershire – described on the race website as 'a tough cross-country half marathon (approximately) on footpaths, bridleways and country lanes thick with mud and other sticky things that occur naturally in the countryside'!
Speed merchants are not neglected either, with 10k races available at Battersea Park on Saturday and Victoria Park and Oxford on Sunday.
Not all races are closed to late entries so check out all the details in the runABC South race listings brought to you in association with Sports Tours International.
