No we're not taking the Mickey – there was a British 1-2 at the inaugural Disneyland Paris Half Marathon on Sunday (25 September). Paula Radcliffe claimed victory in the women’s race (1:24:05) closely followed by Olympian Aly Dixon (1:24:06). The mens’ race saw local runner Nicolas Dalmasso break the finishing tape in 1:13:51.
Paula, who is a Run Disney ambassador, said of the event: “This is close to my heart, because you can have a family day out but also introduce running to the kids. Donald Duck is my favourite, but I’ve never run in fancy dress, yet.”
Aly tweeted: "Fun morning at
@DisneylandParis for the #DisneylandParisHalf Thanks to organisers and cast for a great event."
Close to 10,000 runners took part in the event, which is part of the runDisney series. Other well-known Brits at the race included Ashley James from Made in Chelsea, Michelle Heaton of Liberty X, and fashion designer Henry Holland.
