A phenomenal £630,000 was raised for charity by generous participants and their supporters in the realbuzz.com Richmond RUNFEST last year, taking the total well north of the £2 million mark in six years. Nearly 7,000 runners took part and this is another record expected to be consigned to history by the 7th Richmond RUNFEST weekend on 14-15 September, 2019.
Of the three main events on Richmond RUNFEST's programme, Richmond Marathon and Richmond Half Marathon sold out in April, so prompt action is required to secure an entry. The longer races take place on Sunday 15 September, while Kew Gardens 10K tops the bill on Saturday, along with Richmond 5K and Kids Mile.
Promoters Tom and Jade have confirmed British Heart Foundation as the lead charity for 2019. They told runABC South: “We are delighted to welcome the British Heart Foundation as our Charity of the Year 2019. This is our first headline charity focused on beating heartbreak forever and we are excited to be part of this challenge and encourage our runners to 'run with heart' in September! Money raised from realbuzz.com Richmond RUNFEST 2019 will go towards helping to better understand how to prevent, diagnose and treat heart and circulatory diseases, which are responsible for one in four deaths in the UK”.
Lucozade Sport will be the official Sports Drink Provider for the seventh year and runners can claim a discount code to help them prepare for their races, while staying fully hydrated.
